Kanye West Set To Face DUI Charges

Kanye West Faces Costly Fallout From Kim’s DUI Arrest

According to the New York Daily News, Kanye West is set to face criminal charges after he was arrested for violating a city ordinance concerning drinking and driving. While “Drunk Girls Who Kill,” the album from 2010, is one of his most popular albums to date, the NYPD told TMZ, it’s the third time he was arrested while intoxicated.

The rapper, whose real name is Robert Yeung, was charged with violating a section of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, which prohibits the consumption of more than three drinks per hour (or 21 drinks in a single hour).

The police report says that West “became aware of the consumption of alcoholic beverage while on public property. He immediately left the premises and proceeded towards his vehicle,” TMZ reported. West has been on a crusade against his former collaborator, Kim Kardashian West, who has been charged with DUI twice before. The first time, she was arrested for driving under the influence in Los Angeles on Christmas Day of 2012, and the second time was last month, when her name was linked to the case of a woman who was killed in a crash during her drive home from a shopping trip with her husband and daughter.

The rapper was also supposed to receive a $2 million dollar “ceremonial apology” and a $1 million dollar check as part of the settlement, but that deal fell apart. A judge later ruled that the rapper wasn’t a party to the crash, and has therefore not been required to repay the accident victim’s family any money.

So why the hell is Kanye West getting hammered with DUI charges? He’s clearly drunk.
