Packers vs Lions: Packers vs Lions

Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers Look to Rebound From Bad Starts As Packers Fall Short in Wild Card Round

On the first play of the game, the Detroit Lions were forced to punt the ball away, and the Packers were able to take it back to the house. On their next possession, the Packers picked up a first down after a 10-yard gain from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jermichael Finley to get the Packers on the board, as they held on to beat the Lions, 35-13.

The offensive line was not having a great day either, but the Packers were able to run the ball down the field to set up some points for themselves. In the first quarter, the Packers had 14 first downs and were converting a total of 14 out of 22 third down pass attempts.

However, the Packers did not have the drive needed to make up for their poor offensive line play, and by the time the second quarter started, this game was out of hand for the Packers. They committed three penalties for 16 yards.

With 6:27 left in the game, the Packers were able to drive the ball down the field for a touchdown to take a 17-10 lead. The Lions were able to close out the game on a 7-yard run by Jahvid Best.

The Packers now have to make a trip to Atlanta to play the Falcons in the NFC Wild Card round next Thursday night. The loser will have to play at the Detroit Lions in the divisional round, and the winner, the Washington Redskins, would then travel to New York for a rematch with the Giants in the NFC Championship game.

The Packers offense failed to pick up a first down on the opening drive, but did move the ball downfield for a touchdown on their next drive. After their drive stalled out, the offense came back to score on a 2-yard touchdown run by quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense showed some signs of life, but still fell short of a comeback. The Lions had only 14 penalties for 46 yards, but also committed two fumbles against Rodgers. The Packers did manage to drive down the field on their final drive, but on their final drive too, it was a 12-yard
