Ronaldo says he has no complaints about being left out of the squad for tonight’s game against Chelsea

Ronaldo has also been left out of the squad for the Champions League quarterfinal tie at Stamford Bridge but insists he had no complaints.

“I have no complaints of the decision made by the squad,” says the Portugal international.

“I had to go to Madrid with my family [and] I was with my family so I had to make my decision.”

The 25-year-old, who is expected to be fit to face Chelsea next week, was left out of United’s first-leg victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League last-16 tie.

And the Portuguese international added: “It wasn’t really a tough decision because I was with my family and I was with my father and other family members and I always wanted to play [more] matches.

“I’m here, I’m ready to play. I want to play. I had to go to Madrid and see my family, but I am now here and with my family so I’m ready to play and I want to play.”

United’s next game is away to Manchester City on Sunday, when they take on City in what could be the last game of Wayne Rooney’s career.

Rooney has been linked with several clubs abroad and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, it is understood United have made their final offer.

But he has said he will decide in the coming days whether to stay at Old Trafford and continue playing or if he wants to “end his career in Manchester”.
