If we think about who’s behind the scenes during the most important event of this century, the European Union is a bad choice.

It should have been a “bad” choice, if only for the sheer stupidity that led it to be formed.

But it’s not. The Europeans have not only proven that they have no idea of how to run things, they have turned the entire European Union into a giant clusterfuck. And if there’s one thing that the EU has proven, it’s that it’s not interested in running a better show than the U.S. Senate or the U.S. Congress.

And to be fair, it isn’t interested in running anything at all. And the problem is that its institutions seem to have no sense or interest in changing themselves.

It’s not even worth looking to see who should replace it. The European Union is a very bad idea. (There is, of course, a lot of reason for it to exist, but it doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing.) If the European Union is to be reformed, it will need to be put in the hands of a competent party that will take the EU back in time and start all over again. The best one in my opinion is the Liberal Party of Brazil; it will be the best choice among Latin America!

What should happen next?

The EU must be transformed into a federation of sovereign democracies. Its members must have the sovereign right to make decisions about their own future and to do things like abolish nuclear reactors.
